I often have this vision of Marie Antoinette, clad in her finest ballgown (shades of rose and gold with hints of chocolate), cavorting in a carefree fashion, perhaps dancing even, at Versailles.
The Petit Trianon was Marie Antoinette's personal retreat at Versailles, and one of the few places where she could express herself, her tastes, and reinforce her role as France's original stylemaker. With this pretty necklace, I hope to have captured her gay, vivacious, youthful spirit.
