AMOR INTELLECTUALIS

AMOR INTELLECTUALIS, A POEM BY OSCAR WILDE, 1881

Although named Amor Intellectualis, after a poem from the 19th Century penned by the unforgettable Oscar Wilde, this gorgeously lush necklace was originally inspired by an equally lush and magnificent Court Gown worn by Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, wife of Tsar Nicholas Romanov II, circa 1890. See picture below.

Isn't it just beautiful?? The detailing is so exquisite, the fabrics so opulent, swoon!

Now back to Amor Intellectualis, this necklace is one of my first few oxidised pieces and is 95% made up of Sapphires; Rare Pink Sapphires, Baby Bue Sapphires and Royal Blue Sapphires. Those stunning Rondelles are Rare Moss Aquamarine.

100% handmade, including the clasp whilst the chain is handmade Bali Silver.

xoxoxo Sheela
